Our Community of Practice Includes
Farmers, Growers, Food Suppliers, Food Access Organizations, and Food Chain Workers: people who have experienced the challenges of producing, processing, and distributing food in the context of food and agriculture laws largely written to maintain competitive advantage of an increasingly narrow group of agro-food corporations.
People with Lived-Experience: people who have experienced the trials and violence of food access failure, who have experienced navigating the current nutrition safety net and can provide testimony to a system that fails them, while offering community-based solutions that strike at the root causes of hunger.
Community Organizers: People who bring together groups in conversation to develop advocacy strategies and to build power at the local, state, regional or national level.
Funders: Philanthropists and foundations who understand the power of the movement for the right to food and invest in the people and organizations working to shape food and nutrition policy around a rights-based framework at different political scales.
Elected Officials: Elected officials and their staff who can introduce legislation, steer political debates, and build power from within state institutions.
Legal Experts: Lawyers, law students, human rights experts, and their clinics/networks who can provide legal advice, education, and support for understanding and supporting human rights frameworks.
Researchers/Scholars: Researchers who can provide data and institutional contexts and share our analysis with students, colleagues, and others through journals, curricula, and professional or academic spaces.

Communicators: Writers, communication professionals with social media and press experience, artists, storytellers, and other kinds of communicators that can effectively shape public discourse and change the narrative.
